Geneva, Switzerland — Watches and Wonders is underway in Geneva this week and one of the wonders that has been revealed is Ulysse, the first men’s watch for the house of Beauregard who has teamed up with the legendary master watchmaker, Vianney Halter. Under the creative leadership of Beauregard’s founder Alexandre Beauregard, the brand’s inaugural men’s watch, Ulysse is imbued with the artistic signature and technical mastery of the two creators. The watch is more than a timepiece, it is a work of art showcasing the art of high jewelry making that can be worn upon the wrist. The watch has been brought out in a limited edition of 10 pieces. This is a wonderful world featuring aquamarines of perfect clarity and which underwent a three-year development phase. Alexandre Beauregard (who is specialized in the lapidary arts), with a decade dedicated to lovely women’s floral collections, joined forces with Vianney Halter, recognized for his avant-garde approach, in the creation of this unexpected watch.

The dial is boldly bold. Based on a stained glass window design with gold replacing the lead found in stained glass windows. It is set with 68 miniature components of aquamarines selected for their purity and delicate color, meticulously hand-cut and nestled within an intricately laid gold lacework. Each stone, patiently shaped and fitted by hand in the brand’s Montreal, Canada workshop, reflects light in a unique way thanks to a disk of mother-of-pearl positioned beneath the stone. This provides a lavish decor for Vianney Halter’s famous mysterious automatic entirely Swiss-made movement. The caliber’s innovative design is highlighted by a patented ‘invisible’ rotor that allows for an unobstructed view of its intricate inner workings. With a power reserve of 56 hours, its ingenious architecture allows for the addition of extra modules. For the Beauregard Ulysse watch, this translated into a reinvention of the time display. Here, the hour and minute hands rotate not from the center. Have a look.

The watch is outfitted with a 41mm case in 18K rose gold and a crown adorned with an aquamarine. It is fitted with a chestnut alligator strap and is water resistant to 30 meters. Dzevad, who, from his workshop in Sainte-Croix, machined the extravagant components, and Philippe Narbel, who, with his team at Manufactor in L’Abbaye, masterfully decorated the components by hand were all part of the team that had a hand in this spectacular watch from the hand of man. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. https://beauregard.ch/ https://www.vianney-halter.com/
