After 50 years in the watchmaking industry, Jean-Claude Biver with his son Pierre embarked upon a new adventure, the creation of a highly exclusive and prestigious watch brand in March of 2023. It is dedicated to a watchmaking complication that father and son hold close to their hearts, a minute repeater. And today, the house has just launched its carillon tourbillon minute repeater set with graded blue sapphires, a collaboration with the house of Bucherer, brought out as a unique piece.  The minute repeater is a spiritual endeavor and the timepiece created and exclusively designed for Bucherer is no exception for the carillon-type minute repeater means that the movement is composed of three gongs and three hammers. It joins a host of other watches in the original and intriguing Bucherer Blue collection.

The timepiece is  crafted in white gold, and it is a work of art, adorned with an array of stunning sapphires totaling 30.52 carats in various hues. The intricate arrangement of concave gems transcends traditional gem-setting, serving as a tribute to the art itself. The automatic movement is enhanced by a platinum micro-rotor, while the micro-rotor’s decorative plate is crafted in rose gold. The JCB seal (Jean-Claude Biver) on the regulating bridge signifies the movement’s exceptional finish, both in terms of quality and aesthetics. The movement is circular-grained on both sides, and the bridges, visible at the back, are made of white gold with a grained finish. 

The tourbillon is crowned with a white gold bridge and the timepiece is outfitted with 196 re-entrant angles, 44 jewels, and a 72-hour power reserve. The front and back are protected by sapphire crystal, ensuring both durability and clarity. The dial has a full royal blue sodalite center with white gold indexes, a tourbillon and 90 graded blue sapphires on the edge. Sodalite is a rare blue mineral used as a gem as it makes for lovely faceted gems and it is spiritually renowned for its healing properties notably as a booster for the immune system.
