Wonders never ceased to amaze at this year’s Watches & Wonders watch and jewelry show held in Geneva earlier this year. And the watches that emerged from the house of Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie workshops, workshops that are home to more than 30 crafts dedicated to precious stones and creativity, were no exception. The house has been renowned for over a century now for its specialization in high jewelry watches when the grandfather of Caroline Scheufele, Chopard’s current President and Artistic Director, was at the helm of the house. The house, based in Geneva, Switzerland brought out two stunning pieces at the show.

The first white gold model is entirely paved with diamonds in an original arrangement of round and pear cuts studded with mesmerizing emeralds. Emeralds which through their green color symbolize nature and the triumphant forces of life. It is one of the most difficult gemstones to work with because of its fragility. At the heart of the dial nature shines through with the 12 pear-shaped diamond hour markers forming a generous rosette. Another splendid high jewelry watch featured two very rare fancy vivid cut yellow pear-shaped diamonds which work to light up the dial at 12 and 6 o’clock. The rest of the corolla surrounding the jewelry watch is adorned with white diamonds and this ensemble of time-telling gems is paired with a grey satin strap. In keeping with Chopard’s commitment to sustainable luxury, both watches are made from Fairmined-certified ethical 18-carat gold. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. https://www.chopard.com/en-intl
