New York, New York — We’ll take Manhattan for this Moments in Time installment. And precisely Fifth Avenue, a six-mile long artery in the heart of New York City that separates the East Side from the West Side. Alternatively lined with upscale residences, luxury shops, historic landmarks — the walkway to Rockefeller Center and the main branch of The New York Public Library — small businesses and a host of restaurants and shops, it is also home to Harry Winston’s Flagship Salon at 5th avenue and 55th street. The House is paying tribute to Fifth Avenue in its Avenue Collection of stunning Art Deco inspired timepieces.

The Avenue collection timepieces feature a sleek rectangular case anchored by the House’s iconic arch motif. The Avenue family includes three sub-collections with cases crafted in 18K white or rose gold and set of course, expertly, with diamonds. The models are dubbed Classic, C and C Mini. The larger models, Avenue Classic and Avenue C feature a special finish with specially crafted cases designed to match the natural curvature of the wrist. All of the Avenue’s dials are framed and set with diamonds and exude a certain sophistication. The watch collection is inspired by 1930’s New York and so most of the Avenue timepieces feature geometric forms like circles, ovals and octagons drawing their inspiration from Harry Winston’s iconic emerald-shaped logo.

The Avenue watches are available with the classic hour and minute functions but can also feature the dreamy moon phase complication. A few of the models are outfitted with a small second hand and the Avenue C Dual Time offers up a second time zone. Most of the pieces are powered by high-end Swiss quartz movements while the Avenue Classic Automatic and the men’s Avenue Dual Time are equipped with Swiss automatic movements. The movements can be admired through the sapphire crystal case backs.
