Paris, France — Celebrations and artful exhibitions continue at the Galerie Guillaume which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. Founded in 2003 by Guillaume Sébastien, this second anniversary exhibition is all about light. Entitled Avec La Lumière (With Light), the festive show brings together contemporary works where the artist’s use of light is particularly apparent. The show brings together eight contemporary artists and is curated by the curator, writer and art critic, Olivier Kaepplin, who notes that « More Light » was a phrase attributed to Goethe on his death bed, « where does the light of painters come from? », asks the critic and curator. It is clearly visible on the walls of the gallery coming from within the artists’s minds as well as from outside. There is the iridescent pink and magenta light from a painting by Louise Tilleke, a highly luminous world by Karine Hoffman, stark white light to set off violet lilies in an oil painting by Damien Cabanes and what appears to be a brilliant summer sun from abstract painter Bang Hai-Ja, amongst other works. The luminous show is on until July 13th. ©Trish Valicenti for The Gourmet Gazette. Galerie Guillaume 32 Rue de Penthièvre, 75008 Paris. Tel: +33 (0)1 44 71 07 72. https://www.galerieguillaume.com/
