Paris, France —It is a highlight of both the Parisian fashion scene and the Parisian photography scene, the Picto Fashion Photography Award which was held for the 25th time this year. The prize awarded by the Picto Foundation is a springboard for emerging fashion photographers and the foundations stated mission is to « support projects that place experimentation at the heart of the creative process. » And this years winners reflected the foundations very aim. The Grand Prize Picto Fashion Photography 2023 award went to a young French photographer Annabelle Foucher whose intriguing works highlight accessories and underscore the purity and organic nature of materials used in fashion. The winner of the Arts and Crafts Profession Picto prize with a grant from le19M, a major Parisian art gallery, was awarded to Soliou Ligali who grew up between Benin and France and whose inspiration is drawn both from his Yoruba culture and his artistic education in France. Meanwhile the Picto Fashion Photography Award 2023 – the Filippo Roversi Grant went to the dreamy photographs of Maxime Antony. The self-taught photographer presents an oneiric world set in an ephemeral atmosphere. The photographs are currently on display in the peristyle courtyard of the Palais Galliera, the city of Paris museum devoted to fashion or you can view them on the Picto Foundation website.
