Venice, Italy – It was a sparkling event filled with stars of the silver screen and stars, too, of the world of watches, in particular those of Jaeger-LeCoultre, a main sponsor of the 76th Venice International Film Festival which drew to a glamorous close last September 7th. Meanwhile the Jaeger-LeCoultre watches worn and exhibited there remain as part of the house’s heritage.
Maintaining its commitment to the culture of filmmaking and the preservation of cinematic heritage, the house of high watchmaking celebrated its 15th anniversary of its partnership with the festival. One of the highlights of this year’s festival was a gala dinner given by the house on August 30th on the island of Giudecca, a location between the sea and the stars that reflected the Celestial theme chosen by the house this year. Hosted by Catherine Rénier the Chief Executive Officer of Jaeger-LeCoultre, guests from all over the world were joined by Friends of the House, notably Nicholas Hoult and Amanda Seyfried.
The delicious dinner and starry night were enhanced by the unveiling and an exhibition of four new Jaeger-LeCoultre watches inspired by the stars of the night sky: the Dazzling Rendez-Vous Moon, two new interpretations of the Rendez-Vous Celestial and a reinterpretation of the magnificent Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Céleste.
Meanwhile the house’s spectacular high jewelry watch, the Joaillerie 101 Feuille, a spectacular timepiece hidden behind a leaf covered with diamonds, was worn by Amanda Seyfried. Fashioned in rose gold, the timepiece is outfitted with a manual-winding mechanical movement and a breathtaking dial in silvered opaline and adorned with 167 pavé diamonds. Another watch that pushes the boundaries of unprecedented timepieces, a legacy upon which the house of Jaeger-LeCoultre is built.
